Food technology
Food Technology is the application of food science to the selection, preservation, processing, packaging, distribution, and use of safe, nutritious, and wholesome food.
A food technologist should be able to help you
- Developing new, and modifying existing, products and processes
- Checking and improving quality control procedures in suppliers' factories, from the raw material stage through to the finished product
- Developing product ideas
- Selecting products from suppliers
- Addressing issues of safety and quality
- Liaising and co-operating with colleagues in procurement and technical services, and also with official food inspection and hygiene agencies
- Carrying out feasability study on local food production
- Etc.
